EUAM Iraq, in partnership with the Federal Investigation and Intelligence Agency (FIIA), has launched a Train the Trainer Program on Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) - a key initiative to establish a sustainable, Iraqi-led training capacity to combat radicalisation and violent extremism nationwide.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Head of EUAM Iraq, Anders Wiberg, underscored the urgency of addressing radicalisation, particularly as extremist narratives spread rapidly. "Radicalisation can happen very fast. Our collective response must be equally swift, adaptive, and rooted in resilience," he stated.
The six-month program will train 25 CVE professionals to lead future training efforts across Iraq. Developed in collaboration with FIIA and an external contractor, supported by the Chairman of the National CVE Committee, Ali Abdullah and the Head of Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies Al Nasri, it aligns with Iraq’s national CVE strategy.
"This is more than just a training program-it is a strategic investment in Iraq’s future, said the Head of Mission.
