EUAM Iraq visits the Iraqi museum with EU Ambassador to Iraq
27-07-2021

The collections of The Iraq Museum in Baghdad are considered to be among the most important in the world. Covering the 5000-year history of Mesopotamia, it is a space for safekeeping and showcasing the rich heritage of the Iraqi people.

EUAM Iraq is the first and only EU civilian crisis management mission tasked with cultural heritage protection as one of the thematic areas of its mandate. The Mission values highly the close collaboration with its partner, the EU Delegation to Iraq in this important field.

EUAM Iraq held a joint meeting at the Iraq Museum in order to discuss the museum’s needs on security and development as well as possible future collaboration on cultural heritage protection.

The discussion was followed by a guided tour to appreciate the priceless collection of the museum and bid farewell to the EU Ambassador to Iraq Martin Huth and thank him for the great cooperation.
