Supporting governorates in their role of disrupting extremist groups is crucial to creating a more secure and resilient future. Against this background, EUAM Iraq's Senior Strategic Adviser for Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) accompanied the Chairman of the National CVE Committee, Ali Abdullah, to Mosul.
Mosul is of particular importance because of its history associated with Dae'sh and provided a unique opportunity to assess factors that lead to violent extremism, but also the factors that can restore trust in the community and ensure long-term peace and stability.

During their visit, they engaged with Mr. Ali Omar Gabou, Deputy Governor of Nineveh Governorate for NGOs and Displaced People Affairs, Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and key representatives from Nineveh Universities.
