Baghdad/Brussels: Today, Head of EUAM Iraq, Anders Wiberg, presented to the EU Member States the progress made by Iraqi partners and the contribution of the Mission in improving the security situation in Iraq.
He stressed that EUAM Iraq is experiencing an increasing demand for support and workshops in the capital, but also in the Kurdistan Region, where the Mission has a presence.
“Many of our recommendations are reflected in the annual plans of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior. Progress has also been made in other areas such as human resource management, Human Rights and Counter-Terrorism, to name but a few. We are seeing a growing interest in a whole-of-society approach to Countering Violent Extremism”, said Wiberg.
The Mission also facilitates the exchange between Iraqis and the instruments and tools of the European Union and builds bridges for bilateral engagement
