EUAM Iraq Head of Mission Anders Wiberg and Deputy Head of Mission Robert Boer had a first meeting with the new Iraqi Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, together with EU Ambassador Ville Varjola. Discussion centered on EUAM contribution to the Ministry of Interior. Head of Mission Anders Wiberg emphasized that EUAM Iraq is only operating in the civilian part of the Security Sector Reform (SSR). The Minister of Interior agreed to have follow up meetings to discuss operational priorities.
