Fight against serious and organised crime and terrorism: strengthening collaboration between Iraqi security institutions and agencies

EUAM Iraq Senior Strategic Advisors for Organised Crime implemented their fourth workshop on Intelligence-Led Policing and Multi-Agency Collaboration at the Ministry of Interior’s (MoI) Commanders Preparation and Qualification Centre in Baghdad.


The workshop was attended by representatives of several Iraqi security institutions and agencies focusing on organised crime


The strategic aim of these workshops is to strengthen inter-agency collaboration in the fight against serious and organised crime and terrorism between the MoI, Interpol National Central Bureau Baghdad, the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency (FIIA), the Iraqi National Intelligence Service (INIS), the National Security Service (NSS), the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Office (AML/CFT), and the Ministry of Defence (MOD).

Some 20 high-ranking officers from several Iraqi security institutions and agencies participated in the two-day session which included presentations on multi-agency structures in EU countries, group discussions and lessons learned.
