In Missions with restricted movements like EUAM Iraq, welfare activities are organised to support the social cohesion between colleagues.   Despite the limitation of movements related to social activities in the city of Baghdad, the Mission welfare committee helps mission members organise multiple indoor and outdoor activities that support the team spirit and the development of a good social and working environment in Mission daily life. 

Patrick Hughes, one of EUAM Iraq mission members said, “I was pleasantly surprised that we are able to visit these historic landmarks which are very important for understanding the local context, culture and show us the country”.

Here in Bagdad the Welfare Committee, which is composed of voluntary Mission Members, coordinates activities and events. These activities and events include visiting historical sites of Iraq like visiting the Martyr's Memorial or social gatherings on National holidays.

Mission members are encouraged to propose and organise a welfare activity and/or request the support of the Committee. The Mission has adequate facilities and equipment to allow the Mission members to take the lead.
